Chiropractic Degree

Doctor of Chiropractic programs typically take 4 years to complete and require at least 3 years of undergraduate college education for admission. Graduate professional credits earned through an accredited graduate, medical or osteopathic college or CCE-member college may be used for advanced standing. In both chiropractic and medical schools, the classes for the first two academic years are usually basic sciences. In order to become a chiropractor, one must complete at least 3 years of undergraduate coursework and pass all prerequisite classes. Most chiropractic schools require at least 90 semester credits to be completed before entering their program. To become a chiropractor in Alabama, you must complete two to four years of undergraduate education in addition to four years at an accredited chiropractic program.
Dr. Mays believes chiropractic care early in life results in better health and wellness throughout the years. You'll usually work in private practice, which may mean working from home or, more often, in an established private chiropractic clinic. Neck manipulation should not be done immediately after an injury that causes acute neck pain. Nearly any type of pain can be relieved with chiropractic care, including neck pain, back pain, joint pain, and many other kinds of pain. Chiropractic has been shown to be effective for acute and chronic low back pain, neck pain, and headaches. Spinal misalignments are associated with tight and inflamed spinal ligaments and muscles and restricted mobility in the neck, lower back, and/or mid-back. Osteoarthritis is often associated with severe joint pain, and rheumatoid arthritis suffers may also have frequent joint pain. You may be searching for pain relief after an accident, experiencing an injury, or if you suffer from a specific condition like chronic back pain or a spinal condition.

Services offered include deep tissue and relaxation massage and myofascial techniques. At Health 1st of the Triad, every patient is unique and offers many treatments to relieve pain, get you feeling better and helping you recover from injuries.

Chiropractic spinal manipulation is a safe and effective spine pain treatment. The chiropractor needs to make real the spine and the benefit of a healthy spine. Chiropractic care entails diagnosing and adjusting back problems by manually manipulating the bones in the spine to ease pain and restore mobility. Chiropractic care gets results faster and is less expensive than other medical treatments. Patients are typically asked to lie on a specially designed table, where the chiropractor does the spinal manipulations. Health 1st Chiropractic  urges you to make an informed choice about your back care.
