Chiropractic Adjustment

Whiplash is one of the most common types of injuries caused by auto accidents resulting in pain to areas of the neck and shoulders. Almost everyone will experience some form of back pain, ranging from slightly irritating to completely debilitating, in their lifetime. The pain from CTS is caused by pressure being put on the median nerve, which is caused by repetitive flexing and extending of the wrist. Whiplash injuries can cause immediate neck and upper back pain, or the pain can be delayed for days afterward. Preventing neck pain is the wisest thing you can do to avoid your neck issue from becoming a chronic recurring problem. Chiropractic care is noninvasive and can relieve low back pain with chiropractic adjustments as opposed to the surgical alternatives.
Chiropractic adjustments are applied to a specific spinal segment with a specific force in a specific direction. Spinal bones which have lost their normal motion are restored by a series of carefully directed spinal adjustments. Chiropractic adjustments are precise, chiropractic adjustments are specific, and chiropractic adjustments are delivered by chiropractors.  Since a chiropractic adjustment is a specific force, applied in a specific direction to a specific joint, it is virtually impossible to adjust oneself safely, correctly and accurately. A chiropractic adjustment is the precise movement of a joint to restore spinal and nervous system health. Chiropractic research has shown adjustments delivered by trained chiropractors to be safe, gentle, and effective for many health challenges and people seeking a healthier lifestyle.

Ultrasound therapy is a treatment modality used to treat pain conditions and promote tissue healing. Galvanic stimulation is mostly used with acute injuries associated with trauma such as bleeding or swelling in the tissue. All doctors at Health 1st use hands-on chiropractic adjustment, spinal decompression, and much more to promote natural healing.

Perhaps the most important structure besides the spinal cord and the spinal nerve is the spinal disc. Extending from the spinal cord, between the vertebrae, and joining together, the sciatic nerve is a collection of several nerve roots. When a disc bulges or herniates the disc matter is squeezed into the spinal canal, narrowing the space for the spinal cord and occasionally impinging the spinal nerves. Once the spine is accessed, the herniated disc is removed and the impacted nerve is decompressed. The spinal cord is housed within a space called the spinal canal, which is bounded by the vertebrae of the spine. When a disc herniates and spills into the spinal canal, it can cause compression of the nerves or spinal cord.
